Backlink acquisition: how we earn links for your site

Backlink acquisition is one of the four core areas of our SEO work, and it is also the one we are most upfront about. This guide explains exactly how we earn links for your site, what we do not do, and what to expect.

Two things to know before anything else: we only acquire backlinks from English sites, so we cannot do multi-language outreach. And we are not the right solution for at-scale backlink acquisition. We do custom outreach through trusted, industry standard methods such as HARO, contacting publishers to refer back to the blog content we publish on your site.

Many parts of this process are outside our control, including when publishers update their content, when they reindex it and when links show up in backlink trackers. All of this takes time.

We do not promise you backlinks. Because we do not buy them, we do not make deals with anyone. We are not a shady backlink service. Some SEO services will promise you links. Those links are going to be fake, and they get removed over time. Our outreach process is well refined and run by a dedicated team, but because we do not pay for links or host the sites ourselves, it can take longer than the two to three month timeframe.

For some businesses, that is not okay, and we understand. You can buy what are called Private Blog Network (PBN) backlinks if you need artificial link placement quickly. If you want a white-hat solution, we are a good fit. If you need quick artificial links, we are a bad fit.

Here is what you should know about our backlink acquisition process:

• It is 100% white-hat. We do not own any sites or pay anyone for backlinks.
• We focus on local links if you are a local business, or niche-relevant links if you are nationwide or online.
• We acquire links through placements inside active content. This is how many PR agencies work.
• The link placements refer back to our weekly blog content. This is why helpful content is important.

Our outreach process does not work if we are not publishing content on your site or optimising it. This is why we do not offer backlink-only solutions. The truth is, if you are being compliant with Google's guidelines, you cannot buy links or place them one by one on demand. Any provider that does is either buying them through an artificial network of sites, or owns a network of sites. In the SEO industry, this is called a PBN, a Private Blog Network. We do not do that, and we are heavily against it.

Instead, we contact media sites that are either local to you or niche-relevant to your industry, to acquire link placements inside active content. Publishers need to keep their content fresh with new references and updated information. This is where our weekly content comes in.

By providing informative, helpful content to link to, it benefits the publisher's site and yours. Over the years we have built a name for ourselves as a reliable provider of content to link back to, which allows us to acquire backlinks for you consistently.

There are many benefits to this process:

• It is compliant with Google's terms of service, so you will not get penalised.
• It is an asset that stays there. It does not get removed.
• The referring traffic is intent-driven and high-quality.
• It helps you rank much faster and for longer compared to PBN links.

There are a few negatives to this process, depending on your view:

• It is not instant. Links take two to three months to consistently come through, usually from month three onwards. If we are lucky, two.
• You are not going to acquire thousands of links. You do not need thousands, though some people want that.
• You will need to let us publish content and optimise your site on time.

The more content we publish, the more outreach we can do for you. Please note that we do not guarantee link quantities, because we only do custom outreach. We do not buy links or own our own networks, and there are factors outside our control, so link quantity fluctuates up and down at times.

Your SEO plan earns links through this outreach each month, and the volume grows with the content we publish on your site. Links come through by month two or three. We aim for them to go live as soon as possible, but this depends on external publishers updating their content, their schedules, your website being optimised and our content being published.
