Sociowhiz vs Squarespace: which website option is better?
24/09/202610 min readWritten by Dhvani, CEO at Sociowhiz

Sociowhiz and Squarespace can both put a polished business website online, but they solve different problems. Sociowhiz is a fully managed service where a team designs, builds, hosts and maintains the site. Squarespace is a self-service platform that gives you templates and editing tools to create the site yourself.
Choose Sociowhiz when you want the work handled for you at a predictable yearly price. Choose Squarespace when you want direct creative control, like its template system and have time to build and update the website yourself.
Sociowhiz vs Squarespace at a glance
Sociowhiz costs $99.99 per year plus a one-time $50 setup fee. It includes a team-built website of up to 10 pages, responsive design, hosting, SSL, lead forms, SEO basics and routine maintenance. Squarespace Basic was publicly listed at $19 per month on annual billing, equal to $228 per year, or $25 when billed monthly when checked on 24 September 2026.
Squarespace includes the platform, templates, hosting and SSL. You supply the time and decisions needed to turn those tools into a finished website. Sociowhiz supplies both the website infrastructure and the people who design, develop and maintain the site.

How much does Squarespace Basic cost?
Squarespace's official US pricing page listed Basic at $19 per month when paid annually, or $228 for a year, and $25 per month on monthly billing when checked on 24 September 2026. Basic included templates, hosting, SSL, built-in SEO tools, analytics, up to two contributors and a free custom domain for one year with an eligible annual subscription.
Basic can sell products and services, but Squarespace listed a 2% commerce transaction fee and a 7% digital-content and membership transaction fee for this tier, separate from payment processing charges. Growing stores may therefore need a higher plan. The free first-year domain also renews at the standard rate after the promotion ends.
Pricing note:
Squarespace pricing varies by billing country, currency, term and tax. Confirm the live pricing page and checkout total before buying because plans and prices can change.
What you receive for $99.99 a year with Sociowhiz
The standard Sociowhiz service includes up to 10 custom pages, mobile-responsive design, lead forms, hosting, SSL, backups, updates and one routine change request per month. There is a one-time $50 setup fee, and you approve the completed website before paying to launch.
A standard website is usually prepared within seven days after we receive the required logo, content and business details. More involved work, including ecommerce, bookings, payment gateways, admin panels, multilingual content and software integrations, is priced separately after the scope is clear.
Squarespace templates versus managed website design
Squarespace is known for visually polished templates and a structured editor. It can be a strong choice for a photographer, consultant, restaurant or creator who has good images, clear copy and the confidence to shape the pages. Its editing limits can also be helpful because they reduce the chance of creating an inconsistent layout.
A template does not decide which services deserve their own pages, how to explain an offer, where to place an enquiry prompt or what a mobile visitor should see first. With Sociowhiz, those decisions are part of the service. The design starts from your brand and customer journey rather than asking you to turn a template into a strategy.
Hosting, maintenance and search visibility compared
Both services include hosting and SSL. Squarespace maintains its platform and technical infrastructure, while you manage your pages, content, images, forms and design changes. Sociowhiz handles the infrastructure and routine website maintenance, including one included change request each month.
Squarespace provides built-in SEO controls, but the business owner still needs to research what customers search, structure the pages and fill in the relevant settings. Sociowhiz includes titles, descriptions, headings, image descriptions, sitemap support and structured business information in the initial build. Continued rankings are never guaranteed and usually require useful content and ongoing SEO work.
Ownership, cancellation and the best fit
A Squarespace customer controls the account and edits the site within Squarespace. With Sociowhiz, your domain remains yours, while Sociowhiz retains and manages the source code. The website remains live while the yearly service is paid and active, and it is taken offline at the end of the paid term after cancellation rather than transferred to another host.
Choose Sociowhiz if your priority is a professional business site without doing the design, setup and routine maintenance yourself. Choose Squarespace if you want to build and edit the pages directly, value its templates or selling tools, and accept the higher platform subscription and the time required to manage it.
Decision checklist:
Compare the total first-year and renewal costs, transaction fees if you sell online, design time, maintenance responsibility, editing control and cancellation terms. If you need custom ecommerce or integrations, request a complete quote from either provider before deciding.
